Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Remove main relay, and ext coil wire.. take plug outta cynliner 1. And they put the test in. Repeat for next 3 cynliders.. Now how many times should I repeat for each cylinder? Turn the key 2 or 3 times?

I just unplugged all the plug wires, used some vice grips to hold the throttle wide open and cranked it about 5 times.

damn and I totally read over the part where you said SOHC lol...

the numbers are the same between 2.0 and 2.2's the 1.8 has a 7 psi difference between nominal @ 171psi

If you get really low numbers, try squirting some oil down the plug hole. You can get really varying numbers between a dry and wet test. If the numbers significantly raise for a wet test then youve got bad rings

Thaks erik for the help.. my friend wanted me 2 post it on the board to see what others say, if any1 chimes in.

I did the test.... I let the car wam up for 3 mins.. friend lives 10mins away. So the engine was warm. But not 100% fully warm like I've been drivin for an hr.

I cranked it a few times, 2 different occassions.
                Cy1 was 200 and 200
                Cy2 was 210 and 210
                Cy3 was 210 and 210
                Cy4 was 210 and 210

that seems pretty good to me. I have no idea what OEM spec compression should be but, the fact that 3/4 of your cylinders are the same should be a good sign.

bump it so someone else that hopefully knows can answer because im interested too.

EDIT: I did find this video

i answered his question like 13 days ago about compression numbers... I dont think them being that high is good either. all about the same # is good though for sure.

That video shows an F20A DOHC, those have 9.5:1 compression. I think the F20A SOHC also has 9.5:1 instead of 8.8:1. That would explain the higher numbers I suppose.
