    Cel on but no codes

So my cel came on while getting on the freeway. The car lurched a bit then continued to drive normal. I get to work and go to check codes but the cel just stays lit. It still runs normal other than the fact that it will no longer downshift if I floor it. Did I just fry my ecu? Searching says so but if the ecu is fried how is it still running?

The ECUs have a backup, limp-home mode hardwired in them. This will run the engine and keep you from being stranded, but it won't let the engine rev over about 3500 rpm.

It could be. It could also be that you did not jump the service connector corretly. Just try that a couple times before replacing your ECU.
sold! But here's my build thread for those interested.

If the connector is jumped correctly, there are no codes displayed (no flashing), and the CEL stays on, it indicates that the ECM is in limp-home mode.

I don't think I have an ECM for an F22A4 with manual trans.

The car I'm talking about here is my other CB that is auto. If I put it in neutral I can rev it to rev limiter but in d4 it only goes to 3500. If I manually shift it it drives like normal

LX or EX? What is the part number on your ECM?
