What 25+ year old car would you like to import?

Those of us in the US can easily import any car that is 25 years old or older. That means anything from 1991 is on the table. To me, that's exciting... because I feel some of the coolest Asian and European cars emerged in the 90s. I love looking up random cars that were never sold in the US and dreaming about importing them.

I know I post threads like this fairly regularly, but they usually generate very interesting discussions... and I almost always learn of new cars that completely escaped my attention!

There are a few cars that are now available, or soon will be, that make me wish I had a garage and some disposable income.

    Some of those are:
    Mazda Cosmo

    Honda Beat

Suzuki Cappuccino (earliest models legal for US import in October.)

Autozam (Mazda) AZ-1 (Not eligible for US import until October 2017)

TVR Chimaera (not eligible for US import until some time in 2017.)

What 25+ year old car would you want to import? I'm sticking to US importation requirements, since most of the people here are from the US. Let's keep it to the 25 year old mark for the sake of consistency. However, if you live in a country where cars common in the US market are not available, feel free to name those if you want one!

My choice would still be a CB wagon. After my Accord project is at a point where I won't feel so self-pressured to make progress on it, my next car is going to be American anyway, now that the new NSX has made prices of the old ones go way up.

There honestly aren't any cars that weren't sold in one form or another in America that I'm dying to own. Except for maybe a Ford RS200, but that's pretty unrealistic for most people anyway; very rare, very pricey. I'll think on this...

That Cosmo is a looker I like it pretty good. But I'd probably look into muscle cars from over seas that we didn't get here.

Alright, so money no object, cars that weren't sold here that I would actually want to own. I could lock up your computer posting pics of non-domesticated cars I think are great, but as much as I love something like a Porsche Carrera GT, I couldn't see myself in one even if the price was nothing to me. It's gotta fit my style, if that makes sense. It's like how women that keep a toned body are great to look at, but I couldn't care less about physical fitness myself... not my lifestyle, not my conversation, not my look, not interested.

              Ford RS200

190E Cosworth Evolution 2. Legal as of last year.

E30 wagon... complete with M fenders grafted on

              3g Aerodeck

              Lotus Carlton

I guess there are more than I thought, lol, I better stop! Just went skimmimg through the imports thread over at GTPlanet to jog my memory...

                  Mk2 Ford Escort
                  GB Mini
                  Mk2 Golf Rallye or Country
                  FD RX7

I'd kill for one of the e30 wagons. They came with stupid small engines though. One being a diesel too.

Toyota Mark II aka the Cressida. Although the Japanese version is much more of a looker than the US models.

I'd say an R32 but everyone is on that bandwagon. And Deev, I did see a TVR Chimera once a few years ago in Boston when I was heading back home from work one day.

No idea how they snuck on into the state but it was pretty cool up close. I'm starting to see the BNR33 pop up locally.

That e30 wagon would be pretty damn cool. Other than a nice gts r32 skyline, I am waiting and hoping I will get my hands on a 1994 Audi rs2 (legal by 2019).

a friend of mine imported a gorgeous 20B Cosmo last year and is saving up to get an AZ-1. He's a massive Mazda nerd.

I personally really want an Escort or Sierra Cosworth. The Sierra is available now, and I only have to wait a year or two for the Escort (1992 model year). I've been casually searching craigslist for a Merkur xr4-ti, and came close to buying one 2 years ago to turn into a drift slut.
