    Idle revs high

Would any tiny leak from where the intake manifold bolts on to the head cause the engine to rev to the sky the second it starts?? If not what would be causing this?

does it surge? or just rev high?
a surge can be caused by the smallest pin hole leak or a few different sensors that have gone bad..
reving high could mean you idle needs to be adjusted.
you can do this 3 different ways.
or does it just rev high when you start it then it goes back normal?

u can adjust the idle on the intake manifold but if is idling eradicaly like jumping up and down usually leak somewhere in intake manifold or 1 of the hoses. but if it just revs high try looking at ur throttle body and make sure u dont have some crud holding the valve open.1 out of 4 cases i have solved with throttle body cleaner.

I used to have a leaky plenum. It raised the idle to about 1100-1500

I'd check the throttle body and cable mostly first.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

i had this problem when i swapped my engine out. your best bet is your throttle cable.
