they are made of rubber with a metal spring inside it, what do you mean metal?

problem is good luck finding it honda does not sell this seal it is discontinued and no longer in their parts system, you can always check all your local parts stores thats how I found mines, took me a while before I came across a place that found it for $7 (original nok seal too), or you would have to buy online+shipping still cheaper then replacing whole dizzy gl

Many thanks to the OP, and those who updated the information since then. I have had some oil leaking from my distributor for about a year now. When I got the car a year ago, I noticed that the screws for the distributor cap hadn't been tightened down all the way, and suspected that was to allow oil to escape.

The leak has gotten significant enough to be a problem now, so I started searching for information, and found this thread. I just ordered up the new seal, as well as the O ring, and a new cap seal, figuring that the one that's in there now has been soaked with oil, so I might as well replace it too. The price with shipping for all three seals was a bit over $21, which is a LOT cheaper than buying a new Dizzy.

Nice DIY and I just used it to replace my inner seal.

Ordered it from one of the places in this thread and it came with exactly the same part number as the one I took out of my distributor.

Before removing the three screws that hold the interior of the dist in, I had to remove two electrical connections that apparently aren't there in Rudy's dist.

Then, when removing the rotor, the one Rudy says to mark the position of, I noticed there was a line on the rotor that lines up with the dist body (you can just barely see these in Rudy's picts). I assumed I could just remember that the lines line up when reassembling but lining them up doesn't mean the rotor is in right. Mine was off 180 and I had to dissemble and turn it.

So mark the rotor, as Rudy says, somehow.

                Great write-up, thanks!

AutoPartsFair website wasnt working for me, so I located a cheap source: DriveWire.com - http://www.drivewire.com/search/?N=0...D(universal:0)

I bought 2 inner seals for $30 shipped. confirmed NOK brand, with next-day shipping!

that link only contains the outer seals, just like every other dealership. for the inner seal you will still need to go elsewhere
