ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

Dx to ex power features Swap

So I just purchased a 92 DX for cheap and in really good condition with a FF22A6 but it has no power anything so my question is how hard would it be to change over to at least power windows and locks. what items would I need to do the swap for the windows I know I would need the motors but what else and whAt would I need for the locks need some help. Thanks . By the way I would get every thing from the jy

Not that I've ever thought about it, but you probably want to swap the entire doors.

I suppose there must be master lock & window control wires going into each door, so you will probably also have to thread those in along the sensor wires which exist already.

Since when did DXs come with the a6?

And you're gonna need more than just doors. You'll need a computer to control those windows and locks.

And stick with your manual stuff. Less hassle later on down the road.

          A swap is possible.

Id still rock the manual windows. After the issues ive had with my electric ones, id welcome manual windows with open arms, lol.

I had a DX coupe, and I loved the manual windows and locks. I think it'd bother me more with a sedan.

It's a major hassle to wire up all the OEM power stuff. You'd be better off getting aftermarket parts and converting. I think icedplaya123 has aftermarket power stuff in his DX (some was installed by the original owner, and I think he put the rest in himself)

I can deal with the windows because the electric motors are always a pain in the ass on my other cb I've changed them at least once on each door. But what about the locks anybody know of a place where I can get a kit for power locks.
I always asumed that all the wiring would be there in th dx but it just needed some extra parts to make it work

I'm actually in the middle of converting my front doors to power right now. All you need is the wiring harness from both doors, the door lock actuator, from both doors as well. If you don't know what the actuators are, they are held in by 3 screws, it's a big white plastic piece that is connected to the part that keeps your door closed. If you would like power windows you will need the power window regulators as well. I am pulling my dash all the way out and I have to find a wiring diagram for the door harness' so I know which wires to give power to and which ones to ground. Once i get it completely figured out though I'll let you know how it goes for me.
Those diagrams might be just what i'm looking for matter of fact.

I believe it already has fuses for power options, my lx has fuses for sunroof and power seats even though the 91 LX didn't have that stuff. You'll have to runv the wires all around and probably replace the door panels and mirrors but at the end of the day you have a dx with power options. Good Luck!

I was trying to figure it out myself, but i don't really mess with electronics much still a noob with that, so i'm just allowing my alarm guy do the wiring. Ya you would need the door panels as well. I'm just converting my 2 front doors mostly because i want to be able to lock and unlock my doors from my keypad and i just figured i might as well get power windows for the front as well.
