ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Car sputters or hesitates

So my car was parked for 4 days and I went to turn it on today and it took a while to start, it would start the die well finally it started so when I drove it on the freeway I noticed that the car felt like it was pulling a little from 1000-2000 rpm. I got home checked it and rove it again and you can feel the car studer or the best way I can descibe it is pulls a little what can it be? I can rev the car and it's normal and I have no cel. Any help please

Very likely an o2 sensor or MAP sensor issue. Get it up to highway speed (55mph or so) and proper operating temperature and see if the CEL pops on. If so, it's probably going to read code 43, and the o2 sensor is likely the culprit in that case.

This has been happening very often. There are probably 2 or 3 threads about this on the first page here right now, in fact.

If it's a map sensor issue should I just buy a new one or swap it from one at the jy, I drove it on the freeway again to test it and you could still feel it pull at 65mph and my temp gauge was balk way. I also unplugged my aicv and the car shut down right away I don't know if that matters, I've unplugged it before and it did not turn off.

So I checked the IACV and FITV and both seem to work, changed my plugs and checked the cap and rotor the rotor looks a little burned so I will change that tomorrow, what can cause my car to pull or hesitate while driving? So while I was just writing this I checked my spark plug cables and it shocked the hell out of me it was hard enough that it made me buckle why the he'll did that happen?

Replace your cap, rotor, cables, and most likely your spark plugs. If your cable shocked you, then there is a DEFINITE problem there. Even if it's not what is causing the hesitation (though that's likely), it shoudl still be addressed.

As for the MAP sensor, new is best, but they're not cheap... so replace all other wear items first. The MAP will most often throw a code if it's the problem, so that's much less likely to be it. A junkyard one might not hurt to have on hand.
The o2 sensor can be replaced for about $40 with a Denso unit from Rockauto.com. DO NOT use a Bosch sensor (and most parts stores will give you a Bosch if you ask... they do not work properly!) If the cap, rotor, wires, plugs aren't the issue, then the o2 sensor is most likely. I would change it regardless... if it's not bad yet, it will be soon.
