    1991 nissan sentra SE+R (B13) Projectsunydaze

so i've mentioned here and there about my brother's SR powered sentra. i just figured i'd finally shed some more spot light on it.

    year:
    1991

    make:
    nissan

    model:
    sentra SE

    engine:
SR20VE(neo VVL, its a variable valve lift and timing version of a regular sr20)
    86mm bore x 86mm stroke
    10.3:1 compression(stock)
    1998cc
    oem cam specs
    Intake cam
    Low lobe: 8.4mm lift @ 220 duration
    Low lobe center angle: 110deg
    High lobe:10.7mm lift @ 264 duration
    High lobe center angle: 104deg

    Exhaust cam
Low lobe: 6.6 mm lift @ 244 duration
    Low lobe center angle: 122deg
    High lobe:10.34 mm lift @ 268 duration
High lobe center angle: 114 deg

    mods:
    custom 3" SRI
    BPi velocity stack
megan racing 4-2-1 header (absolute junk on these. it only has a 48mm collector)
exhaust shop special crush bend 2.5" exhaust (crap)
nismotronics with base tune for VE

    trans:
    stock b13 SR20DE trans

    old setup:
    SR20DE
different Intake same Header/Exhaust with JWT S3 cams

    out with the old

altering an obd2 b14 ser wiring harness for use on the sr20ve

engine goes in from the bottom. its actually less than a 1.5hr swap once the harness was on the engine.

    in with the new

    dyno results

after this session we found out that the base timing was off by about 7 degrees. just for reference on the SR20DE 5 degrees timing advance is about 6-8whp. but for now future plans are for SR16VE N1 cams, intake manifold with the oem 70mm TB and one of these headers

with a 3" mandrel bent exhaust and a real tune. it should be a solid 230-240whp. oh did i mention this thing is 2400lbs with full interior+driver and fuel. needless to say if it ever hooks up, it'll be a monster. all it does now is spins 1st-3rd, lol.

Very nice. I have 2 friends with 200sx. Those SRs are badass.

funny story it actually used to be mine. i gave it to my mom and she sold it to my brother. since helping him put his together i've thought about building one my self. the sr20ve has quite a bit of potential for a 2 liter. the main down fall is the oem camshafts. but with the better cams from a pulsar vzr n1 and better intake the difference is huge, almost 30whp.

My cousin has a B13 with the VE swap as well. 2 months ago we installed the SR16VE transmission and he has a set of N1 cams that we will be installing this coming week. He has a airiad 3" intake and an asp header with full 3" exhaust. It is a legitimately fast car. He ran a 14.1 with the VE, stock tranny, and JWT intake.
