Bring a Trailer JDM (real) CB Accord!

It's been a minute since I've created a new thread on here. But I found this on Bring a Trailer and was mesmerized! Are there many JDM CB Accords in the US market nowadays, what with half of them falling under the 25-year-import-rule now?

Excalibur02 owned that car for a couple months, then traded it back to the importer for a manual version.

Not many being imported that I'm aware of. Not much demand, and it's unlikely many CBs have remained roadworthy in Japan due to their strict laws. They're not cars people tend to keep around in such circumstances unless they REALLY like them (as the owners of this car likely did!)

And then I found this track monster Javan R1 with a K20A in the back. Talk about Autox! 1450 lbs. curb weight?!?!

I'm going to have to bookmark this site.

          That thing is cool!

I wish I could get a car like that with a roof (removable or otherwise.)

So many awesome cars have been sold on this site. A month ago, they sold the first USA bound 2017 Civic Type R, #1! It was a charity sale and brought in $200,000, that's 200 grand!

I think they are pretty ugly, but this goes to show you what kind of reputation this auctioneer has.

I saw in person at a HondaFest 2 weeks ago. when I met up with Excalibur02 so many subtle differences between the USDM and JDM models.

^Yeah it was awesome to finally see this thing in person, I had never seen a RHD CB in person until 2 weeks ago. I am really anxious to see what this car sells for too.

I'm not surprised this was owned by a member of the forum. Not many would shoot for this particular car in its JDM variant (despite so many of us swapping for JDM components). This very same listing was presented to me by the google app on my phone... tells you a lot about my browsing habits.

Did he have this one two weeks ago, or the manual one that he traded this one for?

I'm bummed that I didn't see this one in person. He was down here meeting up with Juan and Richie (icedpla123 and Jak Frostwhite) just after he got it. They called me, but I wasn't feeling great, so I stayed in.

i believe the manual one is one year newer, so he has to wait until the end of this year before bringing it into the country.

That would make sense. Though it's based on the manufacture date, so it's possible he could get it sooner! I think my 92 was built in November 91.

This is making me want to bug an importer to find me a RHD wagon, rather than bothering with an American model. Just forget the cost of being that first State-side owner.

You'd probably end up with a better car than what you could get over here in the US.

Though if the wagons were made in the US, I wonder how many of the little JDM only parts aren't on the wagon. It's been so long since I've gone through all my JDM photos, I can only wonder if everything carries over. I'm thinking like the flat side molding and whatnot.
