ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    chalkboard paint hood

what is the best was to rollerpaint a hood. i primed my ugly fading hood earlier and tomorrow i would like to begin doing a roller paint job with the chalk board paint. i have seen a member who had it done but dont remember a name. any suggestions would be great. i know i have to use a foam roller dont know if i have to add anything to the paint or just roll it on. thanks!

There's a lot of information on this on some google searches... I've seen the best paint jobs taking up to 7 coats rolled on.

I would prep it like you would anything else.. only difference is the method of putting the paint on.. and don't clear coat it.

I practiced roller-painting a spare hood. It... didn't look very good. I was at 5 coats before I just gave up.

I did one of my probe and my bagged s-10 like this using nothing but flat black spray paint. After I painted the car. I didnt wet sand it do it had some grit to it and chalk wrote on it problems. Folks at the car show loved it. I left a box of side walk chalk on it and a sign "draw on me". A hour later it was covered. After a few times you would get a ghost image where the chalk would sand it smooth, but a quick mist of paint took care of it

Ill clear it up a bit. You can get pretty good results on a flat paint job out of a rattle can. The way we do them is 8-10 coats, wet sanding after the last coat. It takes the "rattle can strips" out of it. For a chalkboard job you
Don't wet sand after the last coat because you
Need the grit of the paint for the chalk to stick
