ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Name brand = quality !

If u want something to last long then go for a brand name.

They all sound the same, and hp gains are probably similar too. But there is a difference in quality for sure. I've had (in chronological order) Pacesetter, DC Sports, and Megan on my car. The DC Sports was by far the best quality and they have the recessed rings to use the oem style gaskets at the manifold to downpipe and downpipe to cat connections (No leaks). Only reason I took it off was because the flexpipe broke.

For the same price as a flexpipe, I got the Megan but fitment was not that great, the #1 runner doesn't cross over to the #4 like the DC so it hits the A/C line at the compressor, gaskets are garbage, but price was cheap and SS looks ok. The Pacestter was something I got as soon as I bought the car but I wouldn't recommend it. Black paint burns right off so you need to spray it after/strip and paint before install or the piping rusts and looks worse than the oem manifold.

TAS's header is probably about the same quality as their exhaust. Nothing fancy, but not junk.

Honestly, unless you need a CARB exemption, or you really want to make power, there's no reason not to get an inexpensive header. TAS is good, and they're a fantastic company. Megan is decent. OBX is also decent. DC and similarly priced headers are made very well, but you're paying more for the CARB label than anything else. Bisimoto, of course, is the ultimate... the only one worth spending a chunk of cash on.

OBX is nothing but a knockoff brand... just like Megan, and honestly, just like TAS. They are not carefully engineered for our cars. They're bent pipes with a collector. They won't give significant gains... any of them. That's why I say there's no reason to spend a lot of money on a header unless you're getting real gains (and Bisimoto is the only one that actually does that).

If you pay $100 for a header, you get what you pay for. It might last 5 years. It might last 2 years. If it lasts 2 years, you can just buy another one. I mean, $50 a year isn't bad!

Whatever you get, I would get some OEM Honda gaskets to replace what comes with them. Many of those cheapies have leaky gasket issues.
