ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    94 mugen style lip

planning on installing my lip today or tomorrow, i was wonder which kind of screws i should buy from auto zone or pep boys to mount the lip to the bumper? and yes I've read the DIY, but it dosent specifically state which screws to use. Or which ones do you guys recommend?

I used self tapping screws for mine and they held it on there well. My lip cracked in half last week, and the screws held it up until I bought my legend lip. Do you have fog lights?

edit: Also, the lips don't just crack in half, they're good quality lips. Before I used screws mine was held on buy the OEM lip mounting points and I ran it over about 4 times. So they take A LOT of abuse.

Ok, well then the length of the screws you get doesn't matter. If you had fogs you'd have to be careful not to screw into the lens. Just make sure they're self taping screws and you should be good to go. Good luck, and post up some pics

I used body kit mounting hardware on my lip, it ended up being a combination of nuts and bolts and 3/4" self tapping screws. Also, a hardware store might be cheaper than an automotive store.

I used 4 screws where i had to bend the lip, and 10 bolts with washers and a drill. I would never trust my lip to stay on there with just screws.

Not saying it doesn't hold, just personally I wouldn't trust screws.

I drilled holes in mine and used small bolts and lock nuts but With everything I do there's always some overkill, but hey i could hit a cow and my lip is staying on.

I don't trust the stock mounting points! I ripped my Mugen rep. lip off abou 2-3 times using the stock u clips and bolts. Once I used the self tapping screws, that lip never came off. The lip cracked in half and didn't even come off.

I personally would go with body kit hardware because that hardware is made for just the exact purpose you are going for: holding on body panels and stuff of that nature. Therefore, I would go that route.
