ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you have the time and $$$ anything is possible for a car build. Want a B18C Daewoo? just buy just the engine and shoehorn that thing in there! Really all the engine just needs something to house it. Just get a chassis, correct axels to drive the wheels, ecu or some form of management, fuel tank etc along with required mandatory chassis modifications and you can have the hybrid of your dreams.

Look how bastardized old Nissan/Datsuns are! Those cars along with other mid 60-70's makes probably seen more engine swaps other than it's own brand. Thats what keeps the classics alive when better and newer technology comes out.

My favorite Nissan chassis is the S30. How I wish I never got rid of my '77! I was a dumb kid in high school that wanted a Integra and nothing else. If i would've known I could throw a LS1 or RB motor in there... I probably wouldn't be a Accord enthusiast right now. There was a local guy here in Napa Ca that was doing a s2000 swap into a Z.... i wonder if it's finished?

^^^^Hit the nail right on the head.

Sometimes it doesnt take alot of money either. Ideas, Time and Mechanical/Fabrication Skills will take you far. Example My dad has been kicking ass at all these big motorcycle events(rats hole show, AMD, Easyrider ETC) with a 15k Bike up against 100k+ bikes. Its because hi innovation/cleanliness is so much different then everyone elses builds

      That Civic looks amazing!

However, if someone wanted to use a C series with a Legend 6 speed transmission (as everyone seems to want to do), it would be a hassle to install. The C series in that car is longitudinally mounted, like a RWD engine... and the transmission is a majorly funky design. Making all that fit would be costly, difficult, and pretty pointless. It'd be easier to achieve that power with a simple H22 swap, or a mild turbo build. Or hell... a J swap would even be more straightforward!

I was going to bitch about the revival of this 5 year old thread yet again... but those Civic pictures make it worthwhile

Wow, thats a serious widebody on that Civic!

My Dad actually has two 1st gen CRX Si's, he is building up one with the Mugen widebody kit, which is not as radical as that one.

Do it. I'd really like to see that.
The last retard that was on here making that claim never followed through with pics. Then he posted pics of someone else's work, tucked his tail between his legs, and never showed his face again.

a v6 would be stout, with the torque and your cb would probably move out of its own wat then, but... a boosted f22 is way cheaper and easier. a 300hp all motor H swap is easier. Hell the j35 swap "SEEMS" like it would be easier. if i wanted a v6 that bad i'd go with the j swap. just me.

I wouldn't drive a 300whp N/A 4 cylinder ANYTHING in a street car. That's way too much power, likely with far too high a powerband, to be anything but extremely frustrating in a daily driver!
300whp N/A V6 on the other hand... you can buy those from the factory from Nissan and Hyundai right now.

Then again, I wouldn't want that much torque in a small, relatively light FWD car such as ours. I've had torquey FWD cars before (Grand Prix GTP... 280 lb·ft, Wikipedia says it was likely under-rated, and really put out 310 lb·ft... either way, that's massive for FWD.)

2 stepping at all red lights then riding the clutch, great DD material! I would drive such on the street to the track, but other than that nope.
