ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Oil Leaking from Motor Cover

Im sure its just a gasket or something, but im making sure, heres the oil:

And here's the comparison to show its a legit leak:

(sorry if the pictures are big, my iPhone is stupid.)

    Thanks for the help!

    Replace the gaskets
The entire valve cover gasket kit is something like $35 at most parts stores, I believe. Be sure to use Hondabond (or similar sealant) over the cam humps.

just ran up to Advance Auto and got gaskets, used some silicone as sealant for the corners. Oil leak seems to have stopped. Thanks!

(now i just need to clean the bay itself :P)

I just replaced the same thing yesterday. Except I didn't use sillicone and it's leaking out a little, heh.

My leak wasn't due to a faulty gasket, though. It was because I could take the valve cover bolts off by twisting them off with my hand. Woops.

Next time try to use HondaBond as its made for stuff like this whereas silicone sealant might not work as well over time.

I have the same leak around that acorn nut on the front of the engine. I replaced all of those gaskets and seals about half a year ago, and it's been leaking around that nut the whole time. I torqued down the nuts to spec with a torque wrench, and the o-ring/seal on the bottom of the oil cap is still in place.

I've swapped that particular gasket for another one at one point, but it didn't solve the problem. Is it possible that the o-ring on the oil cap is the issue here?

Have any of your gasket sets come with the grommet that goes under the valve cover nut. I know some don't and that may well be the source. I have never heard of the oil cap leaking, but who knows with twenty year old plastic it could be leaking.
