ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

So this is what the drivers side looked like. First I though it wasn't as bad as the passenger side, but oh I was terribly wrong.. This was waaaaaay worse

There were LOTS of this web and bondo. I mean seariously lots of bondo... And something that looked like a piece of old rubber boot

And this is how I left her today.. Been feeling ill and the weather is too damn hot..

By "hot" you mean 67-degrees Farenheit? I'd kill for that about now.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Ok since I'm gonna be unemployed for a good while and I have all the time in the world, I might pull the engine and rebuild it. I don't have the funds for a F22/H23 swap so I'm gonna see what I can get out from the carb engine.

Gonna change every gasket and bearing of the engine, clean it out a little and maybe do a dual-carb swap. And also shave a small slice off the head... A friend of mine has done few dual-carb swaps on several vehicles so I think I could use his help on the swap. I might call him a Honda enthusiastic... He has this EJ9 almos all-motor. Lot's of personality in that car.

My friends dad also has a machinery shop with all those big CNC-machines so might give the head into their hands.

Now the stupid question: Where can I buy OEM bearings for the F20A2 engine? Are the carb engine bearings same as the PGM-FI engine bearings?

EDIT: ofc gonna do also the timing belt, water pump etc...

Ok guys.. So things are getting in shape and I might buy a SAAB 99 for daily driver. Gonna make that thing sooooo slammed and beat the shit out of it's bottom... Old school ftw!!

Then I'm gonna put my CB apart: pull the engine out, wire tuck, new suspension (stock shocks and FK -35 springs from a CD7, not the best but better than cut springs), new bushings all around, remove all dirt and rust from the bottom and make it look brand new, paint it, redo the interior etc etc... I might put some CRX seats in with new fabric...

It's gonna be a hell of a project, but I'm ready for it if get another daily :P

            Stay tuned!

Been making some process lately.. Still nothing special. Pulled the engine, put it apart and found a clutch disc that was.. Uhm.. "Kaput". Done. Dead. At grande finale. The head gasket was also bad. Some pics...

So this is my engine lift. You can pull the engine out smoothly, or a little bit less smoothly... It has a 4WD!

I bought a new Exedy clutch kit, new timing stuff and a new head gasket.

Been working on the head now:

Let's see where this is going. I'm gonna make a one of a kind manifold for the dual carbs. Been looking for 40mm carbs and I think I'm gonna use ones from a Ford Escort.

I got it running few days ago and yesterday I took it for a test drive. Wow.

The dual carb swap was totally worth it. Still needs lots of tune up, but it's deffinetely getting there!

                    Stay tuned

A lot has been done and unfortunetely some of the things can't be undone

I got the car running with the dual carbs, but there were some major problems with the coolant. It went right into the 4th cylinder. Faaaaawk... Discovered a bad intake manifold gasket and the the manifold was warped from the welding. I took the dual carbs off and started to assemble the engine with the stock carburetor and other unessential random stuff... And if there was one word to describe it: VACUUM HOSE NIGHTMARE.

                      And now for some pics...

                      Here's the dual carbs:

And this is the stock one...

I also bought new wheels... Very mild spected though: Dyna Rotec, 15x6,5. Gonna strip the crappy paint and paint them white again.

                      Stay tuned!!

                          What's up guys!

Been a long time since I've written here the last time... Actually nothing has happened to the CB3, cause I've been so damn busy messing around with my Saabs But now it's time to dig up her bones and make her shine!

We've been building a new garage from a old cattle shed that's been unused for eight (?) years now. It has 180 square meters in it...

                          To do/plan-list:

-Fix the rust (I did it already but not good enough)
                          -Pull the engine
                          -Some interior upholstery or dyeing
-Update every single bushing from the suspension
                          -Koni yellows + ground control

Some big words, but now I have all the time in the world!

Today I put the interior apart... The other pic is from the garage

What's been up fellow CB7 owners!

So I might consider myself being a lucky motherfucker for finally gettin my Saab i16 5D 9001 91' sold. I've been saving money for another CB, since there's too damn much of rust in my own CB3...

So! Next week I'm going to buy my second CB. It's powered by an F20A4 PGM-FI engine that makes something about 135hp. The engine is almost identical with my old carb engine, except for the intake valves and the intake manifold ofc. I'm going to put my old engine apart and build it again from the scrathc. I'm going to hoon the cylinders, get new piston rings, take the head to some good machinery etc etc... When I'm done with the block and the head, I will mount the F20A4 intake manifold on it swap it in the new chassis.

Sooo... The new CB has a black fabric interior with red stiches all around. It has heated power mirrors, a sunroof, heated seats, power seat on the drivers side, power windows, PS and a cruise control. The car is satin black. It's a 90/91. I already pulled out the dash from my old CB, since the dash on the becoming car is ruined with fiberglass and shit. I want it all OEM interior.

I've been working on my wheels lately... They're Dyna Rotec 6,5''x15'' Made in UK. Never seen other set of these anywhere. Now for some pics for ya guys!

And here's a teaser of the new car...

Dude that's awesome! I still own a 89' 900i 5D coupé, with OEM air conditioning, wich is quite rare here in Finland! And I also have an 88' 9000i with power windows and power sunroof as a donor car. Fun cars to drive!
