How much do you pay for car insurance?

    Hello, all.

    I have the 93 Accord Coupe, and I'm currently paying $92 a month with Geico. I'm 26.

When I first started with Geico I had a wreck, and a speeding ticket on my driving record, but it is now clean; Well, my five year record.

How old are you? And how much do you pay without bundling?

I'm 27, Clean 5 yr driving record no points. I actually just changed companies last week because my current company kept raising the rates even with no violations in the last two years.

          I've got 2 cars: a 92 Sedan and 93 Coupe.

I was insured w/ Liberty Mutual under their 100k/300k bodily/property but figured that was a waste of insurance coverage for the area I drive in, I used to live in Scottsdale, AZ where people drive around cars worth 100k plus, but now relocated to Glendale, AZ where cars are older and max average of 20-30k lol, so I changed to Progressive and downgraded to 50k/100k which is what they recommended.

          Was paying $95 a month for a 90 Sedan and 93 Coupe.

Now paying roughly 51 a month for the 92 Sedan and 93 Coupe. I did the 6mo. upfront for $310 which saved me 40 bucks.

I guess its not apples to apples, but i got tired of paying so much given my spotless record. I worked hard not to get any violations and am more grown up/responsible now so i felt they weren't recognizing that so i ditched Liberty Mutual to the curb.

That roughly equates to a $157 premium for the Coupe for 6 months and $153 premium for the Sedan for 6 months or about $25 a month on each car. Not bad I'd say. I did liability since any accident is sure to total out the cars anyways given how much body shops want for parts and labor.

            Losiracer2,

How did you even get a quote for $25 a car? I did an online quote with Progressive/Liberty Mutual, and they were offering $185-200 for Liability!

Is it better to call these places?

              I'm 23 and paying $206 a month with Geico.

This is my first car that I'm paying for under my own name, so I thought I'd be paying a lot more. I haven't taken any DDC yet and supposedly it will knock $100 off my bill.

I'll try not to. Man, it's crazy that it raises your car insurance that much, but I guess I kinda get it.

How long does that take to drop off?

I did mine all online without speaking to anybody. I guess its just because of my good driving record that they were able to give me such a good rate combined with my place of residence might help lower the rate.

Also last ticket i got was back in 2010 and I used a traffic school to get out of that one. So I've literally been clean for a LONG time no moving violations since most likely 2008 when i got a stop sign ticket in college which was 2 points or something.

I did have some pretty bad aggressive driving tickets when i was younger back in 2005/6 and had my license revoked back then for a year but according to MVD and insurance companies, they don't see any of that since its past 5 yrs.

a radar detector has helped greatly. I bought one back in 2007 and haven't received a speeding ticket since then since it alerts me far in advance.

I pay $75/month on an '88 Chevy S-10. I have full coverage (it was like $12 more than liability), and high limits.

I think they want ~$115/month for my '93 EX coupe last time I checked. Since I'll be insuring it within the next three months, I guess I need a new quote.

EDIT: I just got a quote for the Accord. $84/month for full coverage. Not bad. I like the sound of this.

$84 for full coverage? How old are you?

I wonder if Geico is going by my old driving record. I had a wreck, and a speeding ticket in 2009, but that should be cleared off now. I have had Geico for three years now.

Im 23, i have 21st century, my driving record is shit (a few accidents, none at fault, and a ton of tickets, luckily no points). And insurance with my 2012 civic si (full coverage) and 92 accord (liability) is $185 per month for both. When I originally had just my si it was 261$ a month. But since I have my accord listed as my primary car it saves me money on my si to insure it, and costs me nothing, since its an older car with no comp or collision.

I checked my policy and having just my accord on it would be $498 every 6 months, or $83 a month.
