Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Funniest thing is I don't think his build is even mentioned in this thread.... But I didn't read all the pages to check. I do know that his user name, 2point6, isn't listed in the 2nd post labeled "King of the N/A CB7s" though.

Not sure if there are any guys here with the bank roll or shop supplies that he had ether. That being said he definitely pushed this platform to it's limits. I'm sure if Ndubisi Ezerioha's F series build was included here it would be hard to touch as well.

I think the hybrid boys are doing well to hit 240/250 N/A on a budget 1/4 of what Scott would have spent on his build.

Most of the guys around here are hobbyists and weekend enthusiasts. Not as many game changers and all out race engine builders around as there used to be.

jdm92_accorn seems to be the resident R&D, trial and error, hybrid guy around these parts now.

Unless you do this for a living it's hard to keep pushing for more without having the bank roll. I don't think many of the innovative DIY guys that are still pushing these platforms stick around these forums as much. IMO that is due to the increased amount of trolls and spoon feeders. The kind who want all of your time, information and research for nothing.

well i am proud of the 280whp i got out of my prelude chassis but the races i went to always had a small all motor class so i bailed. didnt help that the intake cam broke and found a whole mess of stuff wrong from the engine builder but oh well.

prelude is on the bottom of my list of priorities for many years to come.

That sucks.... I have a hard time sending stuff out to local engine shops. 90% of the builds they do are domestic V8's. Not sure if they even own a precision measuring tool, pretty sure plastigauge is the measuring tool of choice for most.

My Accord build is also on the bottom of my priorities list. I have all of the parts and she's in a warm dry spot. I will get back to her at some point in time. Maybe I'll have my own machine shop by that time.

DonF built the bottom end. Unfortunately he built my engine at a time where he really didnt give a shit what would happen to it given he knew his time was limited.

I fell in love with boost though so its going to take a lot for me to build another NA engine.

the whole thing about n/a is the love of the n/a engine and the science behind it. im starting to change my mind about the whole boost thing now. i plan to dip into boost at some point on my 93 coupe. my black one will stay n/a though. blake, i cant wait to see the PH2B kit in your car. i think i might check that out for the black coupe. that is probably the hardest thing about the n/a cars is proper gearing.

The majority of this banter should be deleted, but since it comes from veteran members I'll allow it on the basis that it is closely related and should answer some noob's (Or my own. ) question in the coming months.

But to answer your questions Scott is pretty much out of the scene(He really is, save some special people). To be "fair" he would have to post his old setup. Bisi's setup was never documented on the forum to my knowledge and such wouldn't qualify. They are more than welcome to do so should they ever decide to.

This thread is more for the current "movers and shakers" in the N/A arena in regards to the chassis. As builds come and go, they will be logged for quick reference.

Flirting with piston speed problems at those rpm's on that stroke length. Nice numbers though. Interesting that an additional 1000 rpm's basically only equated to 25hp. I figured you would've seen a bit better return for that. How well does the hardweld idle?

If he could maintain his torque he would see better numbers...still for a single cam with no variable lift it's very impressive. I wonder how much an H could put out with that amount of work.

an h with the same work is posted, pretty similar numbers. i'll be back later on with another build using 11+:1 and a much more aggressive cam. the hardweld idled decent if idle was set at 1200rpm. it's just laggy until about 4k.
