I have been getting a check engine light beause of code 12 (EGR lift sensor). It only happens under load at low RPM... such as going up an incline in 5th gear under 2,300 RPM. It's really annoying because the traffic on the highway is around 60MPH so I have to either be in 4th the whole time or else I'll usually get a check light after a few minutes in 5th going 60.
My manual mentioned that ERG vaccuum is cut off when a code 12 is detected, but didn't say if fuel is effected. thanks.Does the ECU always revert to safe (rich) fuel tables when the check light comes on?
