ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Exhaust System

I am installing an Apexi WS2 on my 92 accord, which for the most part is stock. I want to get a new header and a hi-flow cat. I was leaning towards Megan header and cat. I am just wondering if that is a good set up, or if there is anything else that would be beter.

i love my megan header its personaly one of my favorite companies to go with. i am thinking of getting a cat from them as well.

yeah, I was also thinking about going with a magnaflow cat instead. I'm not sure what would be better.

but, replacing the stock cat would make a difference, right?

no.. the only difference itll make is with smog if yer stock cat was already bad... the magnaflow/catco cat that most people use isnt really a "hi-flow" cat.. its a higher flowing cat than stock, but not by much.. only way ull feel and hear a difference is by putting in a straight pipe (or test pipe as some like to call it).. and i had a megan header on my accord until i replaced it with a no name brand due to a hole in the pipe.. welds look the same, only difference i see is that the inside of the pipes line up better with the flange on the megan.. but both seem to perform the same on the butt dyno

glad to hear im not the only one that likes megan stuff and yeah there wont be a diference in performance with a new cat its for smog and emissions thats it and a little back pressure which is a good thing.

oh i put on that new cat because i couldn't get the factory one off of the rusted old pipes, so i just said screw it and replaced everything.

lol.. shouldve use pb blaster.. that stuff works wonders.. but megan seems like a good company but i just didnt wanna spend another 100 for my header to have the megan stamp on it... ive used the magnaflow/catco universal 2.5" cat and it seems to work well.. passed smog with it so i cant complain..

so basically, I should go for the megan header, and just leave the cat alone then? Another question. Does the megan header come with the downpipe? or would I have to get that seperate? And would the megan cat make a difference compared to the stock cat?

I enjoy wrapping my headers. In theory, the cat being hotter should help with emissions plus a cooler engine bay. I heat my nuts with a torch and cool the header with canned air upside down to help w/ PBlaster. I just hate the smell of it.

its up to you if you want to go with the megan header and yes it comes with the down pipe. i got mine for about 180. and i dont think itll make a big difference itll be a little more air flow but not much at all.
