ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Need help with exhuast and headers

I"m about to get the stock exhuast for my 1993 cb, I was wondering is this something I can do myself, or need pro help? I"m getting the complete piping from the header back, plus i'm installing an after market header. is this difficult?

I think the hardest thing was was getting the o2 sensor off of the old manifold and putting it on my Megan racing header but PB blaster and even more elbow grease will get it loose.

but for me the old exhaust was rusty as **** and the pipe right before the cat was broken. all i had to do was drop the old stuff by the rubber hangers.

when you install that new header, make sure to replace that head to header gasket with a new metal one otherwise it'll leak right there. also when you go to torque the nuts onto the head, make sure to start in the middle and work your way outward.

you going to reuse your factory cat or have you bought a new one also?
if you haven't already, grab yourself a haynes manual and don't work on your car without it.

the hardest part for me was the o2 sensor other than that pretty easy thing to do

Have another person to help you hold the primary when you bolt on the downpipe.

Hangers can be a pain, but spray WD-40 on the holes. Using a jack to raise the exhaust helps to decrease muscle strain as well. Other than that, it's disassemble/assemble.

To get the o2 sensor out, take the car to a nearby oil changing shop, and they can get all the leverage they need to untighten it. (if yours is near the flexpipe under the car) Place around me didn't charge. Just tell them to loosen it, but keep it in to where when you get home, you can do it yourself.
