    Wheel Locks

Please please help me and point me in the rite direction..

I'm lookin at wheel locks. And Gorilla seems to b the most popular.. but they 6 spline.. and any 6 spline socket will most likely remove it, and input?

I don't want a whole set just the lock with key. I want something the auto stores won't have.

Get the puzzle type wheel locks from Honda. They're the most difficult to remove. I had them on my ITRs and they worked fine since they were ball seat for OEM wheels.

Or if you have aftermarket wheels, get the Rays Aluminum lugnuts. They've got a dedicated special lugnut with slots cut in for the wheel lock key. I guess the new ones are 7 sided with a slot cut in. Pretty pricey though, I think they run 150 or something. I got mine for free from my friend after he traded wheels with a guy and they wouldn't fit his 240.

That slot looks useless, couldn't you just put a regular socket over those special ones? I think the slot needs to be on the socket not the nut.

        Ya those... look at these

        http://www.google.com/url?q=http://w...KebLIh4dZWchpA

Found ones that look like security bit kind but for wheels. Sold out out.

        Puzzle locks r nice tho.

I seen gorilla also just look it up. 12x1.50 lug locks on ebay. But doesn't have a slit in them like a puzzle.

Toyota also has the puzzle type, they're probably the same. And yes, it sucks getting them off, even with the key.

The rays nuts I believe are 7 sided so no you wouldn't be able to put a regular socket on it.

I have muteki nuts on my car. They require a really deep 14mm to get them off. Not exactly locking but I imagine anyone stealing wheels is probably using a crossbar and that's definitely not gonna cut it.

I ordered McGuard locks. With a pattern on the end.

When u say puzzle locks r hard 2 get off do u mean because it can strip?

I will put antiseeze on the lug so it won't b 2 hard to get off.

its 7 sided vs. 6 sided, so no.

Also, you NEVER want to torque the puzzle style wheel locks or use an impact gun on them otherwise they can break apart. They're rather fragile. That's one of the disadvantages of them.

I always put them on myself vs. letting the kids at Discount Tire put them on. I used to work there, so trust me lol, they use an impact gun whenever they can.

Like losiracer said the keys are fragile. If the puzzle pattern in the key is messed up at all it will want to slip out every time. The problem is people tend to just toss the key in their glovebox or center console and something dents the puzzle pattern
