ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'm almost done sectioning the two parts together. I used patch material and Lord Fusor - EXtreme Bumper Repair Adhesive, a 2 part plastic repair epoxy to join the outer surfaces. Tomorrow I'll be doing my reinforcement on the backside so I can pop off the fiberglass endcaps and finish up the ends with Lord Fusor. I also talked to my guy today that does the upholstery work. He'll be ordering Black and Dark Gray Alcantara Suede to finish up my interior. Alcantara is a synthetic suede, same used in GTO's, STI's, Ferrari's, Lambo's, and many more vehicles. I saw the sample swatches today, should look sweet when it's done. In the mean time I have to finish the dash, finish wiring up the Prelude controls to the Accord wiring, and start fitting the center console and e-brake.

Here are some pics I took of my progress yesterday.
This pic shows the outer perimeter of the CB7 dash. I used this to maintain the factory mounts on the sides.
This image shows the two sections where they mate across the curve of the dash.
Here's a side view of the underside, showing the two sections. The CB7 is a very dense yellow foam, the BB6 is black ABS plastic.
Here's a view of the top. I used a grinder to grind a shallow grove into the joint between the two parts. Next I installed the dash into my car. I used fiberglass chop mat and resin to adhere the two sections together inside the groove.
Here's a side view. The area I fiberglassed on top looks yellowish cause I trimmed the vinyl back. This allows the resin to soak into the foam and create a secure bond between the foam and fiberglass mat. It's pretty strong already.
Another side view.
This picture shows the small gap between the two sections. I filled this gap with Structural Bonding Foam, a two part expanding foam from 3M. No foam shown in these pics though...
Driver side.
More pics tomorrow maybe. Enjoy!Last edited by wherm; 08-19-2009, 07:37 PM.
