I'd make the hole just a little bigger....because the pump comes out at an angle ..so more clearance is best. Make the hole bigger on the side of the angle.

    Nice DIY!

Good idea, I would do as a couple have suggested and use a cover plate from a Civic or any other car that has an access panel to the fuel pump. Granted it has to fit the limited space on the CB but im sure something is out there that is available. You can also use the hole in the donor vehicle as a template and if your really pimp, cut out the access hole and weld it in place on your CB.....would DEFINATLY drop the tank for this....and this is of course taking this mod to the extreme but would be the cleanest option out there! EIther way, nice thing about using an OEM access panel is that it will look and function like OEM and would actually give some of that space back some of its structural integrity though I doubt cutting this small hole would ever be noticed unless the car was being raced or something similar.

Just did this. Il post pictures later. If you look at above pictures youl notice a steel line of some kind on the seat side of the hole. Theres a bolt holding some other line together under it. The first steel line makes it very difficult to do this mod and get to the lower bolt. so I just cut the above bracket away and made it easier.

Does anyone have pictures of this done on a CB9 wagon? It would be helpful to see where the pump access opening should go, as obviously the contours of the wagon's floor is somewhat different than the sedan.

Never mind; I guess it's not really that much different than the sedan:
