    Interior light and led questions

    How's it going.

Given that our door triggers are negative, and the light switch ground to turn on,

Would it be possible to connect the unlock signal of the central locking, to the door switch, to momentarily send a "door unlocked signal", which would result in the interior lights coming on momentarily?

The reason I ask is that I have found a dome light extender switch for cheap, and if I could momentarily turn the lights on with the unlock signal, I could get interior lights to operate with the unlock as well as doors and to fade instead of harshly turning off for the extra luxury, haha.

Second part= I'm looking to colour match LED's to the stock green, I've looked but cant seem to find a perfect match.

    Thanks

    Yes.

The easiest way to do this is through the oem keyless entry connector. It's a two pin, grey connector located in the driver's footwell. I believe it sends a signal corresponding to lock or unlock on the respective wires.

Then all you have to do is splice the interior light wire with a transistor to simulate the dome and door lights signals.

Leds don't really color match like paint. To get a more exact color, you'll have to use RGB LEDs and change up the color mix.

      Cheers for the reply sonika,

I was fairly sure it would work but its 3am in Australia and I won't be working on my car anytime soon haha.

Yeah I know about using RGB to colour match, I was just wondering if there was a way to match oem spec.

Thanks for the reply man, really helpful!!

        No prob!

I'll take a look at the schematic and make sure those keyless entry wires work the way I think they do. I can look for a good splicing point as well, something that triggers all the lights.

That's okay I have keyless wired in so I shouldn't need it

Alright guys, so got it installed today. My keyless unit only outputs a constant negative, so a relay is required. For anyone wondering, this should be what is required. I will update with photos once it's installed.http://www.the12volt.com/relays/rela...asp?diagram=43
