ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

have you tried to get another person to help you?

have two people and get a wedge behind the filter, i used a pry bar.

and then have your wrench and a breaker bar so the pry bar behind it supports it as you turn your wrench with force it will break free.

    good luck

When I did mine, it was about 2 years ago. Bought a filter from Kragen. I think I needed a 21mm wrench and it was hard to find in a set. But my friend had one and it needed a 17 and a 21 mm wrenches for this job.

It was pretty hard to break the bolt loose at that time as well.

I used my 17mm wrench and a rubber mallet. A few hits and it broke loose.

Don't despair at least you tried.

              Thats the main thing.

              Heres what I suggest:

              1) have an experience mate assist or remove it for you. You can then look how its removed.

              Or A cheeky way is

              2) pay/ask a mechanic to loosen the bolt only. (Be warned this request may not be taken with a smile)

Or if you have had enough (since another fuel filter change on this car is unlikely as the car is unlikely to be around or you plan to be rich in the near future to be able to afford to pay someone else)

              3) pay a mechanic to remove and replace the fuel filter.

Not all repair/service job on a car can be won on your own.

So true. I tried to get the freaking bolts from my EGR valve and crack a socket and try all kind of ways and no luck at all.

Ha. I was wondering how long that "apply heat" was going to go unchecked.

Mine was a pain too when i first did it. Couple years ago I got so pissed that i cut the line and replumbed the whole thing.
