Manual tranny only 2 quarts?

I changed my tranny fluid today and i thought it takes a little over 3 quarts. Only slightly under 2 went in. I changed it a couple years ago and i remember it took only 2 quarts then also. It is a h2a5 tranny. Is this normal. My HSM sais 3.2 quarts.

3.2 may be total capacity. I've only ever been able to drain about 2 quarts from a manual.
