it has the underframe, rolled edges, these hoods look GREAT. Unfortunately, fiber images only makes a hood for our much loved CB7's. I need to know by tomorrow if anyone wants to jump on this offer! I need 2 more orders guys!

Just an FYI note on Carbon Fiber, since I saw some of the comments on this thread.
Most carbon fiber hoods have the understructure because the manufacturer uses an OEM hood as a template and thus the mold has the underhood structure included.
With CF the structure isn't necessary if it is high quality and they use a Honeycomb sandwiched carbonfiber system. CF doesn't move under compression/tension, but is very flexible in bending/torsion (i.e. hood flapping). By putting the stiff but light honecomb structure in between 2 layers of CF, the hood would be almost impossible to bend because you would basically be trying to force one layer of CF to compress while the other one stretches. Since that won't happen, you get a super light and super stiff structure that isn't going to flap in the wind. It also renders the underhood support structure useless. This is how they build airplane parts as well as Formula One, Indy, and other CF race cars I didn't think of. Also, most of the new CF super cars like the Enzo.
Unfortunately, this also raises the price significantly, and in order to make accessories cheap enough, for cars that they normally wouldn't sell enough of at a higher price, most manufacturers don't build them this way.Last edited by owequitit; 10-28-2005, 03:38 PM.Comment

you are smoked dude, have you personally ever built any thing out of c/f, i have and you do make them in two pieces and then mold then together, oem hood is seperated from the skin to make the c/f skeleton
