After reinstalling IM I get loopy and high idle then it stops over 2 days?

I just took off my IM and cleaned then reinstalled it. When i first started up car the idle was high around 1100 rpms and loopy idle from 1100 to 1300. Then slowly over 2 days it just stopped. My idle is still a little high at 900 rpms but the loopy idle has totally stopped. What would of caused this possibly? Bad IM gasket seal i would guess most likely or is this normal. And why would it stop after 2 days?

Air in the coolant lines to the FITV could affect that. The two days of running may have purged the lines of air so that it operates correctly now. If you cleaned the throttle body, including the idle screw, you'll probably need to reset the base idle.

I thought the loopy idle left but it didn't. It is still going on when coolant temp reaches 170. So it is either egr gasket or lots of air in coolant system am guessing. Doesn't the egr open up at 170 also.

Might be the o-ring on the yellow piston inside the FITV.

Rebleed that sucker too!! Those bubbles can stay around in the coolant system.

Bolt wasn't tightened on EGR. I guess that EGR valve must open then a little at 170. As the loopy idle always started at 170 and above. I wonder why exactly. Loss of vacuum on system? or otherwise?

Probably closed-loop mode. The ECU didn't like what it saw, in short, caused it to try adjusting fuel.

I spoke too soon, Loopy idle came back after i started to adjust my base idle. I unscrewed my idle screw a few turns and started doing the process of adjusting my base idle and the problem returned. Am thinking now i obviously have another leak somewhere. If i do screw idle screw all the way in the effect become much less. The loopiness becomes almost unnoticeable. Something i missed or did wrong while cleaning and putting back on IM I bet.

FITV is often the cause of surging idle: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=206012
