i've already done it the second day of installation, holds great..

I bought some water proof velcro from walmart, so that they stay put. After about a year the adhesive turned to powder, and I thought the velcro was overkill anyway. But one day I opened my hood, and where was the eyelid? Stuck to the rubber seal on the hood! Good thing it didn't fall. I would hate to scratch them! So some adhesive of some kind is a good thing.
