ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Buying an H-swapped CB and...

The couple i've found have had the power steering/ac deleted.

I'm not worried about the a/c really, but what am i looking at for time/cost/difficulty to hook the power steering back up?

Have all my own tools, do all my own work. This was one of the few things i didn't mess with on my old CB7.

it's easy to install, i believe the most expensive piecE is the custom line you have fab up.

I guess it really depends on the extent of the p/s removal, if every single line was removed then you'll be in for a treat. I guess really take a good look @ it as well as everything else, making sure it's not hacked up. You can do a CB/Prelude hybrid high pressure line, welding the prelude end to the CB's line directly over the p/s pump itself.

Use the Prelude VTEC power steering pump, bracket and high pressure line. I believe that everything else is Accord. You have to tweak the high pressure line at the steering rack connection, but it works without major modification.

Forget power steering...with some good tires, balance and alignment, its manageable. I prefer CB's w/o PS honestly.

Yeah manageable but why u would prefer to drive without power steering doesn't make real sense to me. There is no advantage to losing PS unless u just enjoy the extra stress on turning and whatnot. Unless you're racing your shit (which nobody is) then just keep it.

its really not a big deal not having power steering. my wagon doesn't have it and i have no problem with it. if a girl can do it ... i believe a man should not have a problem. i have gotten so used to it by now that when i drive one with power steering it feels like the steering is loose. just my opinion.

Right on, so not all that difficult then. The swap i checked out looked legit. Nothing looked hacked up or destroyed.

And yeah, lack of power steering really isn't a big deal, and i've driven hondas without it. This'll be something that gets added to the list of "fixes" but i'll get to it whenever.

I bought my CB with and H22 already in it.
make sure you get all the info that you need, whats been replaced on the motor?? clutch if applicable??

buying someone else project could bring lots of headaches to you, you'll understand that later.

Mine didn't come with power steering, but luckily everything was there, i just had to get the PS pump/bracket and pressure line.

                    good luck to you.

no power steering is kind of weird at the beginning but eventually you get use to it and build some arm muscle in the process

How much are they looking to hit you in the head for it?

I would go for a 5th gen Lude honestly. I def wouldn't listen to people suggesting to go w/o P/S or A/C. Both are god sends on daily drivers.

Kid's asking for $2400. I'm gonna check the car out again, go over it in more detail, and likely offer $2200. Its aesthetically rough, the hoods fucked, no sound system at all, doors rattle upon closing. I feel that's a fair offer considering what it needs to be brought back to decent DD condition.

Also its too low, is a lien sale, needs smaller wheels, an alignment and it either needs a retune or was just running rich enough to smell on the 87 the kid said he had to put in the car that day. Claimed it leaned out a bit with 91.

I had a line shop fit the Prelude end to the Accord line. I paid around 130 bucks. Pump from Autozone is about 80 bucks I think and you'll need the bracket that mounts to the engine block as well as the PS belt (10 bucks)
