ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    1990 carby to efi conversion?

i have a 1990 cb accord jdm with the f18a carby engine, does anyone know how hard it would be to convert it to efi? or if there is a webber carb for it? i cant find much for this engine its a pain in the as haha!

    "How hard" is fairly subjective.
However, I've heard from a few fairly experienced people that it's far too much work to bother. It can be done, but it's a major hassle... enough that it might be better to just buy a fuel injected CB instead.
The majority of the members here are from the US and Canada, where we only got the fuel injected F22A engines. Because of that, unfortunately, there's not much info around regarding the carb'd models. evil_demon_01, one of our moderators, has some experience. He may be able to help a bit.

          Hey Man, from NZ too.

In all honesty it really isn't worth the conversion.
Buy one that's already EFI if its what your wanting.

Whats the reason for you wanting EFI?
The carb works fine, If you looking for a bit more power, throw a cam in it, and mill the head.
That's really as far as you can go for cheap and simple mods.
Otherwise your looking at high comp pistons, and Holley carb

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

Bisimoto was VERY successful racing with a carb'd F series for many years. He converted to fuel injection eventually, but the carb was his thing as he was earning his reputation in the scene.
If you want more power, I say upgrade to the Holley carb, and swap in an F22A.

But only the F22 block, Not head.
Intake ports are different between the two heads.

Actually you could do F22 block with the F20 pistons and head, which will bring the compression up to 9.1 if I remember right.
