Thanks. They were clean, don't worry lol. I don't normally set parts on my bed.

I'm thinking about doing a new cover just like the shaved pewter one except flat/satin black. What do you all think?

i wish i had gotten better pictures of it while i had it (it got screwed up really quick then i yanked the motor) but i was pretty happy with this one i did. the VC was shaved and polished then i taped off a pattern of random triangles and sprayed every other section with red metalcast paint (no primer so it let the polished aluminum shine through). after that was done i penstriped it with a black paint marker, although i didnt have the steadiest of hands when i did it.

edit: found another one that shows the whole valve cover with another i was in the process of shaving, but it was already flaking bad at this point. metalcast paint is definately not durable.

JDMR Valve cover contest from last winter... the same one I entered my Hello Kitty one in .... and lost (for rather obvious reasons)

i know that now, it was just an experiment. i wanted the candy look to let the shine of the polished aluminum through.
