    Picked up some new wheels

I was browsing FB marketplace like I usually do for deals and found these original ARE 398 3 piece wheels for sale. I looked into it, and they matched my bolt pattern, even better! Looked into it further and the fitment and specs were spot on too, without me having to roll fenders or do some crazy camber to fit, so I made the trip to Toledo, OH and picked them up.

So far it looks like one wheel is missing a valvestem and these are really tiny 6mm ones, so I luckily found some on Summit Racing made by Weld Racing and those are on order.

Also got some Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires in a 205/55/16 size with only a summer's worth of use for the quiet cruising nature of them. So those will be mounted soon after the valvestems arrive.

For the most part, they're pretty clean, lips are polished, with the exception of one that could use some light polishing to look good as new.

I'm excited to have a 3 piece high quality wheel made in Japan on my car for that period correct look.

How rare are these wheels? Are they a good quality imitation of some BBS RS wheels? It looks like they're made by American Racing but for their premium ARE brand.

    Here they are:

    Wow, those are clean!

Don't know much about them, but my experience with American racing wheels have been good.

    That's a great find!

Also, I love browsing facebook marketplace. It sucks up a lot of my time hahaha.

So many good deals come through.

Not my style but man those look in amazing condition! I don't even see a lot of weights on them.

I kinda like the look of them in silver over the black that they're currently at since you can see the design of the wheel a bit more when at a slight distance. But I don't want to paint them if they're valuable the way they are since they did come with black centers.

Got the Weld Racing valve stems and they are a perfect replacement of the old ones.

If all goes as planned, I just need to source some lugnuts and I should be mounting these up on Sat. and taking some photos.

                  It's interesting that they're 3-piece but welded into a 2-piece.

If you like the color, I highly recommend not taking them apart. It's a much more tedious task than you'd think it would be.

If you decided to take them apart and weren't planning on being tough on them you could reverse mount them for a lower offset.

They're period correct for the car and I definitely dig them.

Looks like a lot of tire on them, what size?

Edit: I see the size in the OP, they just look taller than 55.
