ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

This is my flywheel at TDC. Should it have this little "BB" indentation at TDC?

If so then the timing marks might be covered with corrosion. If not than this might be an aftermarket flywheel with no marks.

Is that what you see when you use a timing light? I've never seen that mark before.

Was the flywheel replaced? You said the transmission was, but do you know if the flywheel was as well?

I'm thinking that mark is just something else on there, not used for calibration in any way. I wonder if the wheel wasn't put back on properly. Your 15 degree mark could be floating around somewhere else...

I was under the impression that the wheel could only be installed one way. "deevergote" said he has never seen that mark before. I'm thinking maybe it's not a stock flywheel...

yes. I also spun the entire flywheel around slowly and didn't find timing marks. I think it's aftermarket. I'm going to call a shop today to get a quote.

you can get a crank pulley with timing marks on it. that would be much easier than changing the flywheel.

The crank pulley marks are for Cam timing...I THINK!!

Looks like I will be replacing the flywheel. Any suggestions on a replacement? What else should I do while I'm in that area? I assume replace the belt of course?

So this entire thread I have been calling the flexplate the flywheel. I guess when they replaced the tranny they installed a flexplate with out good timing marks. I will go to Honda friday and see if I can get anywhere.

Ah, so you're auto. I've never done the timing on an auto, so it's entirely possible that the mark you see is correct... I can't say for sure, since I've never done it.

And yes, the crank pulley is not for setting the ignition timing.

yeah I should have been more specific! I'm wondering how detailed of a job it will be to replace this flex plate.
