ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    tires

what are some good tires out there? brand name? size?
    suggestion?

    #2
    This is extremely general.

There is no such thing as one good tire, they all do different things.

A good allrounder is a set of potenza RE003's, a cheap grip tyre is RSR, a good track tire is ad08r's, if you can afford r888's get those, there are plenty of options
sold! But here's my build thread for those interested.

Agreed, very vague. We don't even know what size wheel you're running or the desired performance you're looking for. Perhaps you'd like to verify?

You want a tire that is the same general overall diameter as the stock tires. That is what your VSS is calibrated for. Width depends on the width of your wheel.

As for brands, most well-known brands will work just fine. Harder compounds sacrifice grip for longer tread life and greater fuel economy (they are often usually less expensive as well.) Softer compounds give greater grip at the cost of fuel economy and treadlife. The key is to buy what is best suited to your needs.

It would probably be a good idea to do some research on tires in general, rather than asking the internet to simply name brands and sizes without actually knowing how to tell the good information from the bad.

I could tell you to get a set of Linglong LMB3 in 235/75/15 and your only option would be to blindly trust me.

Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) does some comparisons of tire types and has user reviews. The tires I've been happiest with on stock EX wheels are Yokohama AVID Envigors (195/60-115) for everyday driving.

I've actually used hi-flys to great success. Good grip considering the price.
