my distributer is not fireing

ive put a screw driver in the plug and put up next to metal,,,no fire,,,ive try putting my finger over the number one spark plug hole no air whens crank what next????

Remove Dizzy Cap and see if Rotor is turning.
Alternativley Remove Timing Belt Cover & Check for a Broken Timing Belt.

Is it an internal or external coil for that distributor?

Check to see that your cap and rotor button are good. Once again, had this problem, and fixed it. Before getting to technical and possibly spend $60+ dollars on a coil or something, remove the cap and rotor button, and inspect them for carbon tracking, cracks, or burnt spots. If they aren't FLAWLESS, replace them, simple as that.
