Helmholtz resonance eh? I've had an idea about using a linear actuator to actively adjust runner (itb's actually) length. I think Ferrari does this now. I have no clue how to calculate the resonant frequency and how it relates to gas flow for the engine.

That's actually something I've returned to from time to time. Its just not a massive gain vs investment.

That's the throttle body I'm running. I have double stacked IAB's and the IAB is functional on the top plate.

I guess you are running them with no IAB's, but are you gutting them (cutting out all the individual ports in the plates)?

Has the new throttle body helped with the Helmholtz tuning method?

last is something i did to make setting base timing easier. i notched the f23 block where the f22a block already had one.

              .......
I'm about to do this myself, Although I haven't had my head milled down (Maybe in the future).

For the notch, How did you make the "mark" to line up on the flywheel? Is it another piece that you swap over from the f22? (I only have the f23 out, the f22 is still in the car). I can see it through your notch in the picture but I can't picture it on my block.

Also, do you keep your balance shafts active? belt off? or shafts removed and blocked?

              Thanks!

yeah im running with no iab, it has never shown to be benifical to keep it.

it seems to run a lot better, throttle response is much crisper. gas mileage is a little down but power is up so i haven't decided which way to go. power is fun, gas stations are not though, lol.

any flywheel for the f22 will have the timing mark. if you use the f23 lower timing cover and crank pulley it has the timing marks on it aswell. i did it the other way due to running the f22a cover.

What I meant was the mark through the hole in the block. Did you cut that little "v" to line up with the mark on the flywheel?

Also, I guess one can remove the sensors that are on the crank pulley side under the timing cover and crank pulleys? I don't recall though being on the f22a.

Ill be happy for the mpg and the noise reduction. At 3000 rpm its 94-95db and at 2400 it is 84db. On average most h22 guys are getting 4-5mpg more with the accord 5th. This means I can make some more power and keep it streetable.
