Does this axle wear look normal/is my shock sliding down?

    Here's the pictures:

I'm not sure if this was here before.
I'm trying to troubleshoot a crumpling noise. I noticed the upper ball joint bushings were loose, but this also caught my attention.

So.... anyone know how to make the imgur pictures smaller?

It looks like the boot isn't seated correctly in the notch on the axle.

My issue ended up being the rubber in the anchor bolts. Swapped it out with a warranty part and all was good.

When I reinstalled these shocks a few years ago, I didn't notice any notches. It simply looked like it held the bottom of the shock via compression from the bolt.
