ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

How much did you buy your CB7 for? And how much have you spent on it?

    Bought for $1000 cash

Spent over $1500 including paint within 3 months. wow.

    $500 paint
$200 worth of incorrect window regulators
    $200 brake job
$100 used CD player and cheap speakers
$170 getting new title and paying taxes
$100 worth of misc oem items such as inner door handles and a/c knobs etc
    $100 refurb alternator
$50 New battery within 2 days of owning car
    $40 Sylvania super something bulbs
$50+ ebay corner and bumper lights
$50+ cleaning supplies and maintenance items like freon etc
    $25 oil chance
    $70 sparkplugs and wires
    $35 junkyard power steering

I cant help but feel somewhat ripped off for this daily driver but im enjoying seeing something crappy turn into something beautiful to me. I like it but im not enjoying the price tag. I sometimes think that i should have just waited and purchased a car that was $2500 or but then again who knows what kind of problems those had too.

A lot of things still needing to be done immediately like getting new motor and regulator for the two door, and tint. (hot as hell)

O well what you guys got?

    Paid $7K.

Most expenditures have been on routine maintenance.

For fun stuff I have spent about $3500 over the years.

bought it for 4600 back in oct of 2003 w/ 118k miles. I've spent lets see...

        -350 on greddy exhaust
        -225 on dc sport headers
        -165 aem intake
        -225 GC coilovers
        -400 KYB AGX shocks
        -500 brake job
        -1200 wheels and tires
        -330 strip and retint
-300 on an Audiobahn amp and amp kit
        -300 speakers
-250 for powerslot rotors with Hawk pads
        -150 optima red top battery
-about 5000 on repairs since then(A/C discharge line, blower motor, PS pump, leaking oil pan gasket, rebuilt transmission w/ torque converter and solenoids (1750! for this one), new upper and lower balljoints with control arms, CV axles, new distributor, cap, rotor, ignitor, main relay, and wires w/ spark plugs, valve adjustment)

Now that I work at a garage, I'm gonna have my timing belt, water pump and accessory belts done for about 110 bucks, which normally costs around 750+ i believe. I also love how i can use the A/C machine whenever i want to charge and evac. my system. Oil changes are free w/ full synthetic, coolant flushes, transmission drain and fill, wheel balancing, etc.

i paid 4500 for the car, including the motor and some parts.

im estimating ive spent at LEAST 7,000 on the parts for this car over the years, maintenance and upgrades. ive lost track a long time ago, but it could easily be more than that. the transmission and tires alone were like 2000 of it. none of that includes labor, because ive done just about everything myself

and im not nearly done, which is the scary part.
