ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Thats makes good sense... If he was at the JY.

If thats the case then just do it with the wheel on the ground and have your homie hit the brake. That way you have the weight of the car and somebody on the brake to insure it from spinning, if thats an issue for you. Raising the car and removing the wheel and using screwdrivers and shit is unnecessary, its just way easier with it on the ground IMO.

Are you planning to remove the axle with the wheel on? If not then I fail to see where the additional work comes in at.

Well, we are talking about removing just the nut... Not the axel.

They put the little axle nut access covers on wheels for a reason

pop the cap off, break the axle nut loose and then jack up the car and do the rest of the work

I did the screw driver method last time and i bent the fuck out of my screw driver lol

In the end i had to cut the axle nut off of the car

It is unstaked. I hear impact would break the splines, idk. Ill just use it lol. Thanks for all the replies. It was on the ground with the wheel on but as of an hour ago its in the air cause I just sold NY rims. So now ill be taking it off without the wheel on

what about pulling the parking brake? It should work the same as putting a screw driver into the vents on the rotor.

And whoever told you that using an impact gun damages the splines on the inside of the hub is wrong because repair shops and even dealership repair centers use air tools to remove things. If that were the case, then they would not be using air tools.

                      LOL@Using the parking brake.

Im surprised people break so much shit trying to get this nut off.

Torch and blasting fluid is all I have ever needed, that and a 24" breaker bar. Honestly, its pretty easy to break loose. I think the torch and fluid makes a world of difference.

Sounds like what I went through. I used a 6 foot black steel pipe over a craftsman breaker bar. I broke 2 of em.

I ended up cutting both axle nuts with a dremel, and a lot of cutting wheels. It took me a whole weekend.
