ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Is there a way to get dents out of my driver side door without "reskinning" it?

First Post (on any forum actually), I will do an intro thread this afternoon with some pics of my CB7. 93 Sedan - White

For now, I had a quick question. Or I think it should be quick anyway.

I have done a lot of research on getting dents out of the doors. So far, all I can seem to find is something called "reskinning" the door. I don't feel like that is something I can or want to do. Is it feasible to get some moderate dents out of the door without doing this? Or am I better off going with some junkyard replacements (assuming I can even find one)?

There are plenty of ways to take dents out of a door. You got a hammer and dolly, Bondo, dent puller. Depends on the severity of the dents.

They are pretty bad. I will try to get some pics up tonight. Isn't there some metal on the interior side of the door that is in the way of beating out the dents in the skin?

May have to give it a try. Worth twenty bucks opposed to the headache I think it will be to try to hammer them out. Doesn't have to be perfect. I would like to get it as close as I can though.

I did a writeup a few weeks back on using a plunger to remove dents:
                    http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=179026

It worked for me. Sometimes pulling slowly on the dent will get it out, other times if you get the plunger stuck on there and pull it off quickly the dent will pop out.

It doesn't get the small ones out and there will likely still be a small dent where you popped the big one out, but for the small cost and little effor it takes, it works quite well.

X2 on the Paintless Dent Repair. If you were in Ohio I could give you a recommendation. Guy I used was able to remove multiple dings, shallow roof dents, and a 3-4 inch crease on a quarter panel; most of them you can't tell it was damaged even if you know where to look. It's an art. Unexperienced use of a hammer and dolly will probably still need filler and paint.

Had one of the members that lives near me check out the dents. Thinks they are too bad to get out. May try to check a salvage yard for some stylish off color replacements.
