flame suit on: i crashed the BMW
I built this car to be a drift car, so ive been expecting to clip a curb at somepoint.
the most crazy sequence of events led to the crash. first of all, its nothing more than a normal drifting curb hitting accident that can be fixed from junkyard parts.
My friend with the red turbo eclipse has had is car is some podunk shop since my H22 blew and they still haven't gotten it back together.
the shop owner gives him an acura legend with headwork to drive around while his car is being fixed, because it is taking so long.
He decides that hes gonna take the car out saturday night so we can both cruise like the old days.
On my way, my x-gf calls me (i was gonna make a thread about this) and is drunk and at wendy's, which the same one i happened to be passing, and tells me her old xbf keeps asking where she is ( i had chase his ass away like a week ago when he wouldn't leave her house) so anyways she really wants to see me and i know that shes going to be mad if i dont pick her up or if I do and take her racing she will bitch.
Ben's car however, starts to bog and is overheating. We pull over, he turns it off, and then turns it on, and A HUGE cloud of white smoke pours out the back and im like, wow, thats the owner of the shops personal car, and he can't even do headwork right to it, and theyve already blown your motor up twice. I felt bad for him taking his car there. So he gets in my car, with my girlfriend and we all head out to the races.
I get to the races, Smoke a b16 hatch with some goodies, and start drifting around this white hatch in the parking lot next to where they are racing (The whole video is on my friends camera its sick)
Im drifting around this car and everyone in the area starts cheering (u can hear it on tape) and im going buck wild drifting the bitch sideways around this car as it moves forward.
Everything is good and i go to race another hatch (supposedly a single cam, BS) and launch in reverse cuz of it being so close to first We go again and it beats me by about half a car.
so i go to the parking lot, just to do some drifting before we leave, and im going sideways, but the car keeps gripping the ground instead of drifting, and i cant figure out why. im going sideways and out of nowhere the back end starts hopping and BAM it grabs the road and throws me straight into the curb.
I come to find that somehow, my rear control arm slid out of the bushing holding it in giving the rear end a more fluffy feel then the tightness it should of been. Not saying my dumbass driving wasn't the fault here, but i don't think it would have happened if the control arm stayed in place.
We waited for Triple A who has the shittiest customer service, i ask for a flatbed that can carry 3 peopole and they send one that can carry 2, telling me someone has to take a taxi fair? thats a different story though.
i gotta get the pics of my camera, its leaking coolant (no big deal radiator is fine already checked, and the STUPID EBAY PARTS, the freaking ebay brand control arm snapped on my ass, cracked right in half, no big deal, again i can get it from the junkyard. worst thing im worried about is where it comes out of the steering column and hooks to the tie rod it is bent, im probly going to have to cut the steering column and then weld in part of the arm from a junkyard part.
whole thing won't cost more than 20 bucks and a day getting baked and working on the car, so im alright at the fact that i crashed, because to be good at drifting, you have to hit stuff.
