On the top of the brake pedal, there should be a little blue plastic thing that hit a connector.
It probably has come off, broke off, etc.
Just get a bolt and a screw, and you should be fine.

I'm really bad at explaining this, but you should see what I'm talking about.
Just lay in your driver side floor board and follow the brake pedal.
You should see a metal "button" it hits.

I just did it a month or 2 ago.
If you need, I can post a pic around 4pm today (when I get off work).
Hopefully someone can be a little more descriptive than me by then though.

          Yup.
          That would be it.
When it was on my floorboard, I thought it was a lollipop.

Next, put in a bolt and screw in the hole that the blue thing fell out of.
Then, jumpstart your car, and have a good rest of the day.

                Towards the top.
Find the brake lamp switch, there will be a hole towards the top of the pedal where it went.
I'm not sure on the bolt size.
I just had some laying around and tried a few.
                Luckily, one fit nicely.

This pic was taken by my phone, maybe it'll help.
If not, I'll post a pic when I get home.
I have my camera with me, just not my cord.

BTW... the wording on the left side of the pic is "backside of pedal".

                              You shouldn't have to.

But, I suppose you could put the switch with your finger while you use the other than to start the nut.
