This step is really easy.
Supplies:
Clean work enviroment.
Tack Cloth
Wax and Grease Remover
Kero heater (to keep your place warm)
Primer
Reducer (by the gallon)
Paint Sticks
400 grit paper
Rubber Pad
Small Bucket (like sour cream container)
Water
Spray Gun, prefer a better one that a cheaper one
Air Compressor and air hose
Paint measuring cups
Face mask: MUST!!!! get the full one with the filters on each side of your mouth.
First things first. after the bondo work is done, your cant apply paint on that, must be primer first.
Primer comes in different colors, get the green one. Turn the compressor on so you get about 80psi of constant air.
Mix your sealer with hardener. you should ask for hardener with that sealer. on the label of how to mix it. i think its 1:1 ratio. so how much sealer you want, you must use the same amout of reducer. if you have like a bunch of places to paint (this includes if you touched metal) you might want to start off with half a cup. get the medium size ones, not small. mix half sealer, half reducer. mix together with paint sticks and put it into the paint gun and close the lid.
make sure you have the kero burner on and warming the room. make sure your painting in 60+ degree temps. thats when paint likes to stick.
first aim your gun away from the car. set it to about 20 psi (make sure your gun has a gauge), and spray quicky. if paint drips from the gun, turn down the amount of paint going through it.
bottom knob on the paint gun is air pressure, top knob in the back of the gun is amount of paint the goes through the jet. the front upper knob is how wide your spray is. set it to about 6in. spray 6-7 inches away from your area. if its wet, turn the knob down, if it looks like over spray, turn air pressure down.
make sure you have a window cracked.
throw your face mask on. and start spraying the spots where bare metal and bondo is.
after your done, let it dry. id say about 20-30 mins.
after when dry. use a bucket of water and the rubber pad with wet sanding sheets of 600 grit to sand the area of sealer smooth.
now your done in this stage.
