What purpose does this serve? Is it just for looks?

Changed your title for you. It was not descriptive, and did not comply with the rules.

Pretty cool stuff! I thought about running mine along the bottom of the headlights, but I figured I should give it a bit of a contour instead of just straight lines..And I also mounted the LEDs inside the headlights to keep them dry

                        Daytime..

                        Night time..

                        Somewhat cloudy/rainy day..

Not exactly good for DRLs, but bright enough to turn heads at night time
