    ENG: Filling Coolant System

I really don't understand why people have trouble with getting air into their coolant systems. I've never had this problem and I follow this procedure:

    - Close radiator drain plug.
    - Open bleeder valve.
    - Fill coolant to lower radiator neck.
    - Start engine, let coolant temp get to normal operating temp.
    - Top off coolant in radiator to lower radiator neck.
    - Shut engine off and put radiator cap back on.
    - The waiting for fans to come on twice takes far too long, not necessary.

You will never have problems with air in system or low level following this procedure, unless you have other unforeseen coolant system problems.

ive nvr done this and ive nvr had any problems with my a6. my temp is always at 1/3 city or barely above C on the highway (bumper light scoop)

ive always filled with car off.

for those wanting to do this u should have picts of the bleeder valve and lower neck ETC.

The lower neck goes from the lower hose to the back of the head and the bleeder valve is right next to the T-stat sensor you can't miss it.

Exactly, they aren't hard to miss at all.

Well for those who seem to have a hard time finding them here are some helpful pictures.
