    Bosch O2 sensor modification....

we all know that bosch o2's are crap for our cars. but there is a supposed fix to make them work properly.

Deev and I have both done some considerable searching and neither of us have come up with anything.

apparently there was a link posted on this site somewhere that links to the bosch site with instructions for repair. neither Deev nor I can find it or remember the poster's name....

does ANYBODY know where this info can be obtained?????

---Deev, if you've found anything since the last time i asked you about this LMK---

I've been looking! I can't remember the name of the member that posted it. I'm not sure if they're even still around...
It's here somewhere, and it was posted within the last year, I believe... but I don't know where to find it!

i've tried searching with: bosch o2 solder, bosch o2 wiring, bosch o2 sensor solder, bosch sensor, bosch o2 rewire, etc..... nothing.

i know you cruise some of the other honda sites Deev, any chance it was on one of those??
not doubting your memory, but since we're both at a loss.....

            FOUND IT!!!

Slice One is the member that posted the info.
            http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...ighlight=bosch

That's the thread in which he posted it.

He linked to a PDF file on the Bosch website that apparently doesn't exist anymore.

This one has the same file name as the one in the link, so it MAY be the correct one... I haven't read it in detal to find out. Check it out and see...

                Signal wire WHITE
                Heater wires* (2) BLACK
                Ground wire GREEN

for the bosch o2 sensor the corrosponding wires are

                Singal wire BLACK
                Heater wires* (2) WHITE
                Ground wire GRAY

MAKE SURE that you soder all connections and fit tight with electircal tape, if you do not soder these connection, they will not fall in spec for the resistence and your car will throw a CEL (check engine light) GOOD LUCK!
Quoted for ease of access in this thread

Finally... we have our Bosch o2 info again!
Thanks again, Slice One! (last active in September... he may come around again!)

keep in mind that this is for the universal O2.

its still definitely possible that the PnP version still has problems. although i dont see why it would to begin with.
its essentially the same sensor with a factory style connector.
maybe the problem lies within bosch's connector??

BTW. Bosch now supplies their universal O2's with a weatherproof posi-lock connector kit. not sure if this as reliable as soldering.

probly gonna fore-go the connector kit and solder it up the right way when i do this repair later this month....

This is just for the universal sensor in which you have to solder the connector right? This really has nothing to do with their o2 sensors that are not universal.

still don't see how this effects the longevity (or lack thereof) members have experienced with these sensors. That issue is not the connector but how long the sensor remains functional... I personally have had horrible experience with their spark plugs...SEVERAL bad brand new. That plus the bad exp. others have with their o2 sensors means I will never buy a bosch o2 sensor.

                    oh well...good info...I never buy universals though...but if I ever need one I'll reference this...if it's a bosch...which it won't be.

i wont use a bosch spark plug ever. had many bad ones out of the box, just like you said.

the only reason i was hunting for this info was BC the parts store i work in only has bosch o2's.

just found out today that summit has ntk sensors for pretty cheap compared to most. might go that way and save myself the hassle.
