ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Having trouble finding the lock/unlock wires.

The essential info. 1990 Honda Accord LX Sedan, all stock and never had alarm installed.

I have tested all of the wires that needed to be connected to the alarm. The only one I cannot confirm to be the lock and unlock with my multimeter.
The connector as pictured below is the 2 pin gray plug wrap in blue tape together with the wire harness black loom. The wires in the plugs are black/red(unlock) and black/white(lock). To test it, I ground the black of my multimeter and put the red on the connector wire, one at a time. While the multimeter is connected, I flip and switch and looking for voltage drop to zero or close to it. Nothing really drop on either wire. At rest the constant voltage shows 5.16V, as I flip the switch in either direct, the voltage goes to 5.09V, but not even close to zero. I follow this video to do my testing.
What I did to verify my testing method was to test the plug at the actual switch itself, the 2nd picture below. The wires are green/white, middle is black as ground, and green/red with 2 silver dots. I test both of the green wires and the voltages go from 5.16V to zero each time I flip the switch then back to 5.16V. Now that is how it's suppose to be tested and show those results.
I wonder if the lock and unlock wires can be found else where with the same or different colors. I can google any thing to be different.

Picture 1: 2 pin gray plug wrap in blue tape under the carpet.

Picture 2: 3 pin plug right at the driver's door.

Picture 3: The brown plug above has the black/white for door triggers and the green plug has the green/black for trunk trigger.

Picture 4: Big wire harness above the fuse next to the ignition harness. Are the lock or unlock wires in this one? What colors are they? Definitely not the conventional colors.

I don't know what else to proceed next? I can't completely install the alarm without confirming these 2 wires. I don't really want to go back later to connect the wires. Plus I am doing priority unlock so I want to get it done now.
For priority unlock: Which wire color in the door do I need to cut to isolate the front driver's door from the rest of the doors so I can connect to the relay?

Also I am collecting ideas of how to run wires from the door inside the cabin on the driver's front side as I am putting window modules in the doors. The boots seem on tight and I don't want to drill any thing. Maybe I have to take the fender off.

    Thanks.

Can't help you on this one, my wires were under the drivers seat in the factory keyless entry on my cb9

OK. I found some other way to test the wires and here are the quoted techniques.

      First Technique:
To test for a Type B (-) lock wire, set the DMM to +20V DC. Connect the Red lead to +12V constant and the Black lead to the
suspect wire. When the lock (or unlock) is pulsed, you should see the DMM go to +12V.

      Note from DEI :
The station wagon uses green/white for lock and yellow/white for unlock. These wires are found either in the drivers door harness
      or under the rear seat.

Locate the large harness in the lower below the carpet in the drivers kick panel. Near the foot rest you will notice a piece of blue tape
attached to the harness itself. Reach around to the underside of the blue tape to locate a 2 pin gray plug with the lock and unlock wires
      attached to the plug.

Power Lock black/white (-) lower drivers kick
Power Unlock black/red (-) lower drivers kick

      2nd Technique
Get a simple test light here.
Ground the clip to the body of the car.

Locate the wire for the door lock, and
probe it. Once the wire recieves the ground from the
test light, it will actually lock.
Same with the unlock when probed.

The first technique did not work. The voltage never move with switch operated.
But the 2nd technique worked great. As soon as I touch the wire, the lock and unlock triggered.

Now, I need to find the horn wire, it suppose to be light green/blue but I can't seem to get the horn going. Do I need to take the steering wheel off? I don't think so.
To do priority unlock, I need find the unlock wire for the front passenger's door alone. I wonder which color it is.

I also need to run some wires through the door for the window modules.

I saw this Megatronix window module. It has a built in temperature sensor so that the windows will vent at 100F and close if falls below that. It's a little cheaper than the DEI 430T. Any one has any experience with that?

The first connector is a connector i've only seen used if you have an OEM security system. Its listed as lock/unlock on the wiring harness for the OEM security system as well.

I have the whole OEM electrical troubleshooting manual, if you need anything from it just PM me.

I didn't use the horn at all. Buy it is in the steering coloum, or you could run a wire to the horn itself

I am thinking about replacing both of the horns to make it sound not so wimpy. I want to buy this and this to wire them in and remove the stock horns. What do you guys think?
                Thanks.

You test the lock wires with the continuity setting. One side of the meter to ground and the other to the wire being tested.

Horn on honda is always blu/red

Thanks man. I got the locks down.
Son of the bean!!! The wiring sheets every where I read was light green/blue at the steering column. Then I pulled the service manual, it says blu/red. No wonder I could not find it.
Lucifer1, could you help me with 2 more questions?
                    1) The horn wire, blu/red, is it only in the steering column or is it else where down by the fuse box area?
                    2) Priority unlocks. I know I have to run the alarm brain unlock wire into the door to a relay which I already know how to set up. But I need to isolate the front driver's door wire color for the unlock, just for that door, would you know which one? For priority unlock setup, the wire for front driver's door, would it be inside the cabin some where so I don't have to run the wire through the door? Or is it only in the driver's front door?

                    Thanks.
