    Aftermarket Lights

I hear people talking about how bad the Aftermarket headlights are, what is so bad about them? I’m not defending tem, just want to know, I was thinking of getting tem, as well is taillights, but is there something wrong wit the taillights too?

truth about aftermarket projector headlights, stickied at the top of the forum

red/clear taillight faq, sticked at the top of the forum

tail lights are more of a subjective opinion of the appearance, rather than poor quality.

I remember being one of the first people to have projectors on my accord. This is going back to 1999. Paid $250.00 including shipping for a prototype extra from apc. I loved them @ first, than I got a ticket for dim headlights, had to remove them. End of story.

Besides the crappy light output that everyone is talking about, THEY LEAK!!
A couple of my friends have/had aftermarket projector headlights, and after a rainy day or even a lengthy car wash, the headlight fogs up. The condensation also goes onto your bulb and makes them burn out quicker. Not a good thing if you're sporting some expensive PIAAs for over $100/pair.

thats why i got mine..i liked the look of them but they arent the best way to go if you "performance" out of new headlights...if you want the one-piece look then go with jdm's...if it doesnt matter, black house your stock ones and slap on an hid kit

Look in the 2nd page (near bottom) of my members ride for a comparison between stock and projectors

That looks half decent actually, I would dump the fog lights though, because it looks a little cluttered with everything on @ once.

any light that's on, with the pic taken head on will look bright. the color of the light while looking at it is irrelevant, as far as lightoutput is concerned.

if you really want to see the way a headlight or foglight lights up the road, you need to take a pic of the cutoff, i.e. the pic needs to be taken from inside the car, on top of the car, or from the side. example:

is the light bright?!?! the way i took the pic, it doesn't look as bright as those projectors...

i guarantee "projector" headlights don't come close to h.i.d.'s

again, if you want to see the quality of the light, ask to see the light cutoff. second thing to ask about is the stats of the pics (shutter speed and aperture) if they don't have pics of the light cutoff, there's probably a reason, or can't give you the stats of the pics, there's probably a reason...

absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
