    17s - tire size recs?

I have a set of 17's and going to buy tires but would like to know what size tires you guys are running. 205/40/17? 215/45/17? 215/40/17? 205/50/17?

215/40/17 is good, thicker tire, but if u turn the wheel all the way you might rub a lil or if u carry a lot of ppl i the back. i am runnin 205/40/17, they are a nice ride and good performance. what kind u gettin?

def go with 205/40/17 tires. helps with rubbing issues if u have any. i was debating on whether i should go 35 series but ahh NH roads suck lol so i think i am sticking to 40 series for now until mass pavement begins lol

yea get the 205/40/17's, i have those and they are great so far.. When they are cold they spin like crazy but after they warm up, they don't slip a bit!..

Edit: they are made by Kuhmo. I can't remember now what model..

I run a 215/45 and havent had a problem either. Plus it helps soften the ride a little with that extra bit of tire. Its mainly just price and preference that determines the size.

i used 215/45. 205/40 are for civics and integras. 215/40 is actually the most accurate tire for our cars. you don't want to throw off your speedo.

                  check this calculator out:
                  http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

stock DX/LX size is 185/70/14 and stock EX/SE is 195/60/15 for reference.

205/45-17, and 225/40-17 are the exact same diamter as stock (within .05 inches I guess.) 225/40 is really hard to find (last I saw only Nitto made that size), and is probably at the upper end of the scale in width that will fit. 205/45 is very common. If you want a 215mm wide tire, 215/40 is the way to go, although it will throw off your speedo just a bit (it will read higher than you are actually going).
